Built for the water
not for the wonder

Now Hiring: The Founding Technical Team
M.P. Marine was started with the intention of replacing chaos with a plan. In the world of boat wiring, we don’t do "winging it." We provide our team with a clear roadmap so that every system we touch is built right, stays safe, and just works. We are looking for an Apprentice who wants to move past the guesswork and master the craft of high-end marine electrical systems.
The Opportunity: Help Us Build the Standard
We are looking for our first full-time employees to help us set the bar for marine electrical excellence. Whether you are a seasoned expert looking for more autonomy or a motivated newcomer looking for a high-tech trade, we have a seat at the table for you.
Apprentice
Lead Tech.
Entry-Level Marine Technician (Apprentice)
The Role: We are looking for our first full-time employees. This is a unique chance to get in on the ground floor of a specialized firm focused on the future of marine power, specifically Li-Ion systems and NMEA 2000 digital networks. You won’t just be another number here; you’ll be working directly with the Owner to help set the standard for how we work.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Disciplined Execution: You’ll follow detailed instructions for rigging, cable routing, and securing connections. You are responsible for making sure the work is done right the first time.
- The Last 5% Rule: You’ll ensure that when a customer opens a hatch, they see a work of art—labeled harnesses, clean cable runs, and a tidy bilge. We obsess over the details most people never see. The goal is to leave every boat looking better than we found it.
- Technical Investigation: We don't expect you to know everything, but we expect you to learn how to find the answers. You’ll use the resources we provide—ABYC standards and manufacturer portals—to find the right answer.
- Operations & Reliability: Your punctuality and accurate logging of hours/materials in our project software will allow us to grow.
What We’re Looking For
- Intentionality: You have a strong mechanical aptitude and a clear desire to join the electrical trades. You don’t believe in "making it work" with zip ties and prayers. You're interested in understanding the how and why as much as you are the end result.
- Transparency: You are honest about what you know and what you don't. At M.P. Marine, mistakes are for learning, not hiding. If you make one, own it immediately so we can fix the process, not the person, and avoid repeating it.
- Commitment to Mastery: You are ready to pursue your ABYC certification. We fully fund the training and exams because we want you to be an expert, not just an assistant.
- The Basics: High School Diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license.
The Payoff
- Compensation: $24.00 - $28.00/hour (depending on your starting aptitude).
- Certification Bonus: A $500 lump-sum bonus the moment you achieve your first relevant certification (ABYC/NMEA).
- Direct Growth: Direct mentorship from the Owner and a clear path for pay increases based on the milestones you hit.
Experienced Lead Marine Technican
The Role: Lead Our Technical Evolution Tired of generic repair work and "good enough" installs? We are looking for a Lead Technician who wants to be the authority on high-end marine power. This is a founding role in our growing team. You will lead the autonomous diagnosis, design, and installation of complex systems, ensuring every project hits the "Finish Line" with absolute precision.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Mastery of the Craft: You’ll lead the installation and repair of all foundational DC and AC electrical systems to the highest standards. No "black boxes" here—you’ll be the one designing the solution.
- Specialization Focus: You will be our internal expert on Lithium-Ion (Li-Ion) battery systems, BMS integration, and NMEA 2000 digital networking. You’ll configure digital switching systems and navigation electronics that most shops won't touch.
- The Last 5% Rule: You own the finish. From perfectly parallel cable runs to labeled fuse blocks and wires, you ensure the "invisible" work is a work of art. If it’s not clean enough to show a Master Tech, it’s not done.
- Empowering the Captain: When the job is finished, you lead the "Handover." You’ll take the mystery out of the system for the boat owner, teaching them how to leave the dock with total confidence.
- Operations & Autonomy: You’ll use our project management software to log time, materials, and job status with high accuracy. We trust our Leads to run their projects like they own them.
What We’re Looking For
- Intentionality: 5+ years of direct experience in marine or industrial electrical troubleshooting. You don’t guess; you follow standards and manufacturer guidelines.
- Refinement: You have a "Search First" mindset and a drive to stay ahead of the curve. You’re obsessed with the details and take pride in your work.
- Transparency: You communicate clearly with vendors, clients, and the owner. If a plan needs a pivot, you speak up and help us find a better roadmap.
- The Basics: Proven working knowledge of ABYC standards (ABYC certification is a plus but not required), your own basic hand and power tools, and a valid driver’s license.
The Payoff
- Compensation: $38.00 - $50.00/hour (Based on your experience and current certs).
- Performance Bonus: Eligibility for a bonus (Target 5%) tied to quality and project efficiency metrics.
- Investment in You: 100% funding for ABYC/NMEA certifications and specialized manufacturer training.
- Culture: Direct relationship and a collaborative environment with the Owner. We’ll work together to not just fix boats, but build systems we’re proud of.
