M.P. Marine Terms & Conditions

of Service

Last Updated: June 15th, 2026

By requesting or engaging M.P. Marine for services, you (the "Client") agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions. These terms govern all services provided by M.P. Marine, including estimates, invoices, and any related interactions.

1. Service Rates & Charges

Labor

Standard Labor: $180 per hour.

Apprentice Labor: $120 per hour.

Travel Time: $120 per hour. Travel time is calculated from our base of operations to your vessel's location and back.

Consumable Installation Materials

A charge, not exceeding 10% of the total labor cost, will be applied to cover essential consumables and incidentals. This percentage may vary based on the nature of the work and includes items such as wire, electrical connectors, sealants, adhesives, fasteners, tape, disposable safety materials, and other low-cost items not itemized as specific parts and materials.

Parking & Marina Fees

Any fees charged by marinas or facilities for outside contractors, parking, or access will be directly applied to your invoice or included in your estimate where applicable.

Minimum Service Charge

A minimum charge of two (2) hours of standard labor, plus applicable travel time, applies to all service calls.

Emergency Service Fee

An emergency service fee of $500 will be applied in addition to 1.5 times the standard labor rate. The two (2) hour minimum labor charge also applies to emergency services.

All parts, materials, and equipment supplied by M.P. Marine are billed to the Client at the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) or the current list price as determined by M.P. Marine. This price may be higher than any wholesale, trade, or discounted cost we incur to cover our sourcing, stocking, handling, logistics, and warranty management overhead. By engaging our services, the Client acknowledges and agrees to this pricing structure for all supplied materials.

2. Parts & Materials Pricing:

Client Supplied Parts and Materials

To ensure the highest quality of service and project efficiency, M.P. Marine Electrical & Electronics primarily sources and supplies all parts, materials, and equipment required for our marine electrical and electronics installations and repairs. This allows us to ensure component compatibility, manage warranties effectively, and maintain project timelines.

However, should a Client choose to supply their own parts or equipment for installation or integration by M.P. Marine Electrical & Electronics, the following terms shall apply:

TWO

Warranty Limitations

M.P. Marine Electrical & Electronics will not provide any warranty, express or implied, on Client-supplied parts or materials. The Client is solely responsible for the performance, defects, and warranty claims for any such materials. If a Client-supplied part fails, the Client will be responsible for the cost of its replacement (if desired) and any additional labor incurred for its removal and re-installation.

Materials Handling Fee

ONE

A handling and management fee equal to 25% of the retail value of the Client-supplied part(s) will be charged. This fee compensates for the additional administrative time, logistical coordination, verification of suitability, and increased liability associated with installing components not directly sourced by M.P. Marine.

THREE

Suitability and Compatibility

The Client is solely responsible for ensuring that all Client-supplied parts and materials are suitable for the intended marine application, compatible with existing or new systems, and meet all necessary safety and industry standards (e.g., ABYC). M.P. Marine reserves the right to decline installation of any Client-supplied part deemed unsafe, unsuitable, or incompatible with the overall system design or industry best practices, at our sole discretion. Any diagnostic time spent assessing the suitability of Client-supplied components will be billed at our standard labor rate.

Project Delays

Should Client-supplied parts be incorrect, defective, arrive late, or require additional diagnostic time due to unsuitability, any resulting project delays or additional labor will be billed at M.P. Marine's standard hourly rate.

FOUR

Estimates, Invoicing, and Payment

Estimates

Estimates are provided based on our initial assessment and are for informational purposes. They are not a guarantee of the final cost. The final invoice will reflect actual time and materials expended.

Deposit Requirement

To secure your project and allow for material procurement, a deposit equal to 100% of the estimated material costs is required before work commences.

Transparency & Cost Overruns

We are committed to transparent communication. If unexpected material costs exceed $200 beyond the estimated amount, we will discuss and obtain your approval before purchase. This may necessitate an additional deposit.

Late Fees

o ensure timely service for all clients, a late fee of 10% of the outstanding balance will be applied to any payments not received within 30 days of the invoice due date. An additional 10% late fee will be applied every 30 days thereafter until the balance is paid in full.

Scheduling, Project Timelines, and Completion

Upon receipt of the required deposit payment, your project will be positioned within our active service queue. All projected timelines, commencement dates, and completion estimates provided by M.P. Marine are strictly approximate. Due to the highly variable nature of marine diagnostics, component integration, and environmental constraints, no guarantees can be made regarding exact work completion dates. This policy is stringently enforced—particularly during peak spring and summer operational seasons—to safeguard our commitment to the highest industry standards of safety, ABYC compliance, and system reliability.

Automatic Payment Authorization

For final invoices not paid within 15 days of the invoice date, the payment method provided at the time of service request will be automatically charged for the outstanding balance, unless payment is received through an alternative method by the customer prior to this deadline.

Diagnostics & Troubleshooting

Scope

Troubleshooting and diagnostic services are performed to identify and pinpoint issues. While we endeavor to provide solutions, these services do not always guarantee a permanent fix or solution.

Further Action

Resolving the diagnosed issue may require additional parts and labor beyond the initial diagnostic service. Any such costs for a permanent solution will be communicated to the Client in the form of a separate estimate whenever possible.

M.P. Marine performs all electrical and electronic installations strictly to current American Boat & Yacht Council (ABYC) safety protocols and marine electrical regulations. To ensure technician safety and project integrity, M.P. Marine reserves the absolute right to refuse service on any vessel deemed to have compromised, hazardous, or undocumented existing infrastructure.

For vessels exhibiting severe non-compliance, unmapped aftermarket modifications, or structural electrical deficiencies, M.P. Marine may mandate a certified third-party marine survey or a pre-paid, billable M.P. Marine Electrical Audit prior to issuing estimates or commencing work. Refusal by the Client to provide a necessary technical baseline or fund an infrastructure assessment will result in the immediate cancellation of the service request. M.P. Marine shall not be held liable for any pre-existing vessel defects or hidden hazards uncovered during initial diagnostic evaluations.

Right of Refusal & Vessel Condition Requirements

Warranties & Insurance

Product Warranties

All product warranties are provided solely by the manufacturer. M.P. Marine will gladly assist you with warranty claims. In some cases, manufacturers may directly cover the cost of parts and labor for warranty replacements.

Service Warranty

M.P. Marine warrants its labor for a period of 90 days from the date of service, against defects in workmanship. This warranty does not cover issues arising from normal wear and tear, misuse, accidents, unauthorized modifications, or parts not supplied by M.P. Marine.

Insurance Coverage

M.P. Marine maintains marine general liability insurance with a single incident limit of $1,000,000 and an aggregate limit of $2,000,000 for your protection.

By engaging M.P. Marine for services, accepting an estimate, or making a deposit payment, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions of Service.
